Biological Origin & Reproduction:
Emerald Flower (Stapelia Smaragdina) is a parasitic plant originating from the Homo Heidelbergensis era. This species utilizes mammals to reproduce. Its transmission strategy relies on attracting humans with its mesmerizing fragrance. When the host inhales the fragrance, microscopic seeds attach to the olfactory nerve and the host unknowingly leaves the area.

The seed penetrates the brain, feeding on glucose, and extends its roots to the brainstem. Microscopic nanofibers seep into synaptic gaps, taking control of the mammal's instincts. At the end of a roughly 2-week process, the subject feels the urge to feed four times more than normal and to remain unclothed.

Stages of Infection:
There is no point of return at this stage. The host must remain emotionally stable; sudden emotions such as fear or intense happiness trigger the flower. If the host remains stable, the flower spreads throughout the body. However, if activated before fully spreading, it constricts the Carotid Artery (Arteria Carotis), cutting off cerebral blood flow and killing the host. 3 hours after death, the flower blooms through the mouth and nose. It dies if it fails to find a new host within 1 week. If a living being approaches the corpse, the flower releases seeds into the air, restarting the cycle.

Humanity brought this nightmare under control years ago, burning all known instances to extinction. Only a single seed is kept secured in a high-security laboratory. Every year, we commemorate the first week of August as "Emerald Flower Awareness Week."

We are in the 5th month of war; the government fell in the 3rd month. Soldiers are committing massacres everywhere. This is now pure revenge. They threw my neighbor out of a window just for spilling coffee on a soldier. I beat up a grocer to steal tomatoes to feed my 2-year-old son. I took a beating, but I am trying to survive with my family.
